FH UMJ Holds Special Education for Class 12 Advocate Profession
The Faculty of Law UMJ is holding the 12th Class of Special Education for the Advocate Profession (PKPA) in October 2023. This education for Law Bachelors is held online every weekend for eight meetings.
In collaboration with the Indonesian Advocates Association ( PERADI ), PKPA FH UMJ presents material with practical and empirical content guided by experts and practitioners in the legal field. Tubagus Chief Executive Heru Dharma Wijaya, SH., MH., stated that PKPA FH UMJ seeks to provide space for Law graduates who want to focus on the advocate profession.
A series of names starting from Prof. Dr. Zainal Arifin Hoesein, SH., MH. (Academic/Chair of Basyarnas), Dr. Chairul Huda, MH. (FH UMJ Lecturer/Criminal Law Expert), Prof. Dr. Ibnu Sina Chandranegara, SH., MH. (Lecturer at FH UMJ/Constitutional Law Expert), and others.
PKPA is an important stage for prospective advocates because the PKPA graduation certificate is the main prerequisite for taking the Advocate Professional Examination. Tubagus explained that the materials presented during PKPA were materials that could be studied to fill in the questions for the Advocate Professional Examination.
“Legal issues are always developing and there are always new forms. So these issues will become topics for discussion of material seen from various perspectives, for example procedural law and human rights. "One more thing, because this is at UMJ, the material cannot be separated from the values of Al Islam and Muhammadiyah," said Tubagus when asked for information on Monday (16/10/2023).
The materials studied by PKPA participants relate to the code of ethics for advocates, legal opinions and due diligence from a legal perspective, business competition procedural law, religious court procedural law, and so on. PKPA was opened on October 7 by the Deputy General Chairperson of PERADI Dr. Shalih Mangara Sitompul, SH., MH. Also present was the Dean of FH UMJ Dr. Dwi Putri Cahyawati, MH., and Deputy Dean II M. Rusdi Daud, SH., MH.
It was recorded that 20 people took part in PKPA from several regions, namely Jabodetabek, Java Island, Palembang and Lampung. Tubagus hopes that the participants can follow each meeting carefully because attendance is one indicator of graduation assessment. "The hope is that PKPA participants will follow it with focus and thoroughness, and will then be able to take the Advocate Professional Examination," he said.
PKPA is one of the programs agreed upon in collaboration between FH UMJ and PERADI since 2012. PKPA is held at least once a year, even twice a year.
