UMJ Chancellor Appointed as Professor of Political Science

 Chancellor of the UMJ  was inaugurated as Professor in the Field of Political Science, Thursday (09/11/2023). The inauguration procession was held in the KH Hall. A Azhar Basyir The Scholars Building was solemnly marked by the Chair of the UMJ Senate, Prof. Dr. Masyitoh Chusnan, M.Ag.

Before being pinned on the badge, Ma'mun delivered a scientific oration entitled Dialectics of Islam and Pancasila: From Ideology to Actualization. Ma'mun was appointed as a Professor based on the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 37257/M/07/23. Ma'mun is the 20th professor held by UMJ with a credit figure of 851.50.

UMJ Deputy Chancellor I Dr. Muhammad Hadi, M.Kep., said that the inauguration of Prof. Ma'mun is a source of pride for UMJ because Ma'mun is a productive lecturer whose thoughts are widely referenced in books, journals and writings in the mass media. Therefore, this is also an inspiration for lecturers at UMJ.

This statement was acknowledged by the Chairman of the UMJ Daily Advisory Board, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu'ti, M.Ed. In his speech, Mu'ti said that Ma'mun was a very productive lecturer and the ideas presented in the scientific oration were considered extraordinary and contained sharp criticism.

"With this inauguration, we are confident that the benefits of the development of the UMJ campus will be felt directly by the entire community," he said.

According to him, this inauguration shows that the two major wings of Islam in Indonesia have produced intellectuals who can cross the two mass organizations, namely Ma'mun, a Muhammadiyah cadre with a Nahdlatul Ulama family background .

“We have to strengthen the forces supported by the moderate Islamic wing in various ways. "This is an important part of improving the quality of UMJ to educate the people and the life of the nation," concluded Mu'ti.

The Head of LLDIKTI Region III, Prof. Dr. Toni Toharudin, S.Sc., M.Sc. According to him, the inauguration of Prof. Ma'mun is an achievement and pride for LLDIKTI Region 3. "Prof. "Ma'mun has proven extraordinary abilities, expertise and contributions in the field of political science," he said.

Toni said that Ma'mun is an academic who deserves to be a role model for the nation's children because he can combine the worlds of academics, activism and Islamic boarding schools. Moreover, currently he has the title of Professor who has an important role as part of determining the direction of the nation's life.

"The world of Indonesian politics is currently facing complex challenges and problems such as corruption and others. "Therefore, the role of professors is needed to participate in pursuing civilized politics in order to produce quality and honest leaders," he said.

Furthermore, Toni hopes that the title of Professor will encourage Ma'mun's enthusiasm to play a role in seeking changes in the institutionalization of democracy in Indonesia in a better direction.

General Chairperson of PP Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Haedar Nashir, who was present at the inauguration event, stated that Prof. Ma'mun reiterated that Indonesia is a Pancasila country. According to him, the 283rd Professor in the Muhammadiyah organization is an extraordinary figure seeking knowledge.

“Thank you for reaffirming that Indonesia is a Pancasila country. We want to end past political debates. "It is not enough to have a consensus that Indonesia is a Pancasila country, but we have to build Indonesia into a daarul ahdi wasshahadah country , namely a progressive Indonesia," concluded Haedar.

The inauguration of the Professor was witnessed by Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Nur Hidayat Wahid, Jazilul Fawaid, Arsul Sani, Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian People's Representative Council Muhaimin Iskandar, Member of the People's Representative Council Hasto Kristiyanto, Mayor of South Tangerang Drs. Benyamin Davnie, and a number of other important figures and UMJ academics.

The great cleric, Ustaz Adi Hidayat, closed the inauguration with a prayer for Prof. Ma'mun to have knowledge for the good and benefit of the life of the nation and state. This Honorary Doctorate recipient from UMJ also prayed for UMJ to become a campus that can produce the best generation that can prosper the nation.

SMA PGRI 109 RAIH JUARA 1 PIALA REKTOR DAN IKALUM UMJ 2023

  SMA PGRI 109 Tangerang    meraih juara satu Piala Rektor dan Ikalum UMJ 2023 yang diselenggarakan oleh Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Olahraga   Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta   (UKM   UMJ ) Cabor Sepakbola, di Stadion UMJ, Jum’at (08/12/2023). SMA PGRI 109 Tangerang  berhasil mengalahkan  SMAN 6 Tangerang  dengan skor 2 – 1 dan sekaligus menempatkan  SMAN 6 Tangerang  di posisi  Runner Up . Posisi juara 3 dimenangkan oleh  SMAN 17 Kabupaten Tangerang  yang menang  Walkover  (WO) atas lawannya SMA YP Karya karena tidak hadir dalam pertandingan. Sebanyak tiga puluh SMA/SMK Sederajat Sejabodetabek mengikuti turnamen yang dilaksanakan mulai dari 25 November sampai 8 Desember 2023.
